For the Dough:

  • 2 cups wheat flour (atta)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Water, as needed
  • 1 tablespoon of oil or ghee
  • For the Potato Filling:

    • 4-5 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
    • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
    • 3-4 green chilies, finely chopped
    • 1-inch piece ginger, grated
    • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped
    • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
    • half  teaspoon garam masala
    • 1 tablespoon coriander powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
    • Salt to taste
    • For Cooking:

      • Ghee or oil, for frying
      • Method Of Prepare Aloo Paratha Recipe

        1. Prepare the Dough:
          • In a large mixing bowl, combine the wheat flour and salt.
          • Gradually add water and knead the mixture into a soft, smooth dough.
          • Add 1 tablespoon of oil or ghee and knead again to make the dough pliable.
          • Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 20-30 minutes.
          • Prepare the Potato Filling:
            • In a bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, finely chopped onions, green chilies, grated ginger, and chopped coriander leaves.
            • Add cumin seeds, garam masala, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt to taste.
            • Mix everything well to ensure the spices are evenly distributed throughout the mashed potatoes.
            • prepare the aloo Parathas:
              • Divide the dough into equal-sized balls.
              • Take one ball and roll it out into a small disc.
              • Place a portion of the potato filling in the center of the disc.
              • Bring the edges of the dough together to seal the filling inside, forming a ball again.
              • Gently flatten the stuffed ball and roll it out into a larger disc, about 6-8 inches in diameter.
              • Be careful to roll gently so the filling doesn’t spill out.
              • Cook the Parathas:
                • Heat a tawa over medium-high heat.
                • Place the rolled-out paratha on the tawa.
                • Cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbles start to form on the surface.
                • Flip the paratha and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes.
                • Apply a small amount of ghee or oil on both sides and cook until golden brown and crispy.
                • Repeat the process with the remaining dough and filling.
                • Serve:
                  • Serve the hot aloo parathas with yogurt, pickles, and a side of butter or ghee
