Gobhi Paratha Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams of cauliflower
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour(gehu ka aatta)
  • Salt (according to taste )
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 4-5 green chilies (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves (finely chopped)
  • half  teaspoon ajwain Optionally (carom seeds)
  • Water (as needed)
  • Ghee or oil (for cooking)

Method For Prepare Gobhi Paratha Recipe

  1. Prepare the Dough:

    • In a parat, add the whole wheat flour and a pinch of salt.
    • Slowly add water and knead the flour into a smooth, soft dough.
    • Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Gobhi Paratha Filling:

    • Clean the cauliflower and grate it or chop it into very small pieces.
    • In a bowl, mix the grated or choped cauliflower with salt, coriander powder, red chili powder, green chilies, and fresh coriander leaves.
    • Optionally add  ajwain for extra flavor.
    • Mix everything well and set aside.
  3. Assemble the Parathas:
    • Divide the dough into small balls.
    • Take one dough ball, dust it with flour, and roll it out into a small circle .
    • Place a enough amount of the cauliflower filling in the center of the rolled-out dough.
    • Gather the edges of the dough and bring them together to seal the filling inside.
    • Gently press the filled dough ball and roll it out again into a flat circle.
  4. Cook the Parathas:
    • Heat a tawa or flat pan over medium heat.
    • Place the rolled-out paratha on the hot tawa.
    • Cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbles start to appear on the surface.
    • Flip the paratha and apply ghee or oil on the cooked side.
    • Flip again and apply ghee or oil on the other side.
    • Cook until both sides are golden brown and crisp.
    • Repeat the process with the remaining dough and filling.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve the gobhi parathas hot with yogurt, pickle, or any side dish of your choice.
