Lachha Paratha Recipe: Layers of Flavor, Crisp to Perfection!

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour (atta) or maida
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil or melted ghee (for dough)
  • Water (as needed for kneading)
  • Ghee or oil  (for layering and cooking)
  • Dry flour (for rolling)

Method For Prepare Lachha Paratha Recipe

  • To make lachha paratha recipe , take wheat flour in a bowl (you can also use all-purpose flour (maida ) if you prefer).
  • Add salt and gradually mix in water to knead the dough until it becomes soft and smooth.
  • Once the dough is ready, let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
  • After the resting time, add a little oil to the dough and knead it again thoroughly.
  • Now, divide the dough into portions.
  • Since lachha parathas are usually larger in size, make slightly bigger dough portions.
  • Take one portion and use your fingers to fold it inward from the edges, sealing it in the middle.
  • Repeat this process for all the dough portions to prepare them for the parathas.
  • Then apply some ghee or oil on the prepared portions and let them rest for another 10-15 minutes.
  • before rolling them out and cooking the parathas.
  • After 10-15 minutes, take one dough portion and shape it into a smooth ball using both hands.
  • Then, dust it with a little dry flour and roll it out into a large roti, slightly thinner than a regular one.
  • Now, spread ghee evenly over the rolled-out roti.
  • Then Lift the roti from the outer edge and fold it. Press it well and roll it up.
  •  Now, sprinkle some coriander leaves on it and roll it out again.
  • Heat a tawa or flat pan over medium heat.
  • Place the rolled-out paratha on the hot pan and cook for about 30-40 seconds or until small bubbles appear.
  • Flip the paratha and spread some ghee or butter on the cooked side.
  • Cook for another 30 seconds, then flip again, adding ghee to the second side.
  • Continue cooking until both sides are golden brown and crispy, ensuring the layers puff up.

Serve:

  • Serve hot with  yogurt, or pickles.
