- Ghee or butter 1 tablespoon
- Milk 3 cup
- Sugar 3-4 tablespoon (adjust to taste )
- Cardamom (ilayechi) powder 1/4 tablespoon
- Almonds ( baadam ) 1 tablespoon
- Cashew (kaju) 1 tablespoon
- raisins (kishmiss) 1tablespoon
Method for prepare the seviyan kheer recipe
To make Seviyan Kheer recipe , it’s best to use roasted seviyan (vermicelli) as it gives a better taste and doesn’t dissolve quickly in the milk. If you don’t have roasted seviyan (vermicelli) you can easily roast it at home.
- To roast seviyan ( vermicelli) heat a pan on the stove add a little ghee or butter.
- and cook the seviyan (vermicelli) on low flame until it turns golden brown.
- When the seviyan (vermicelli) is nicely roasted, take it out on a plate.
- In the same pan, add the chopped nuts and fry them until they turn golden brown.
- Once the nuts are ready, take them out on a plate as well.
- Now, place a pan on the stove and pour in the milk.
- Bring the milk to a boil. Once it boils, add the roasted seviyan vermicelli and mix well.
- Keep stirring the kheer with a spoon so that it doesn’t stick to the pot. Keep the flame on low.
- When the seviyan (vermicelli )becomes soft, add sugar and mix well.
- Cook it on low flame for 2-3 minutes.
- Then, add the fried nuts and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Then turn off the stove.
